The Zaccariello Family (1966)
Zaccariello’s Tailor and Formal Wear opened its doors in Connecticut in 1966 by local tailor Pietro Zaccariello. He ran the store with his family for almost 40 years until he passed it on to very close family friends.
The Bonavena Family (2004)
In 2004 Frank and Rosa Bonavena took over as owners of the Wallingford shop and as mother and son they have kept the family tradition that made Zaccariello's a trusted place for family and friends to go for great formal wear and great atmosphere.
Rosa Bonavena was born in Naples and raised in Tuscany, Italy and moved here with her husband, Domenic, in 1975. She grew up in Italy learning the seamstress trade and used her skills upon arriving in the USA. She worked for Gants Shirtmaker for 5 years and then Robby Lens Fashions for 5 years. She also worked for Home Goods as a front line supervisor for another 5 years. She has over 30 years of seamstress experience.
Frank Bonavena graduated from Albertus Magnus College in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems. During college, he worked as an assistant manager at WorknGear and a full-time head waiter at Anthony's Ocean View Restaurant. Upon graduation, he became a manager at Abercrombie and Fitch for 2 years before taking over at Zaccariello's in 2004.
